Travis J. Selinsky

Summary:

Travis enlisted in the United States Army on May 22, 2008, at the age of 18. In 2008, Staff Sergeant Selinsky attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning Georgia, where he was awarded the MOS of 11B (Infantry).

After completion of OSUT Travis was assigned to Bravo Company, 2-8 Armorer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood Texas on Sept. 16, 2008, as a rifleman. While assigned at Fort Hood, Travis was deployed to Iraq from Feb. 5, 2009, to Feb. 5, 2010.

After departing Fort Hood 2012, Travis was assigned to Alpha Company, 2-12 Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado as a fire team leader.

During his time in Alpha Company, Travis deployed again this time to Afghanistan from March 12, 2012, to Dec. 11, 2012.

Life Achievements/ Recognitions:

Travis was awarded the Purple Heart on April 17, 2012, for wounds received in action on April 3, 2012.

After leaving Fort Carson in 2013, Travis was awarded a secondary MOS of 79R, recruiter, and assigned to Maui Center, Honolulu Company, Portland Recruiting Battalion as a recruiting NCO.
