He "was the most upbeat soldier we have ever known," the platoon wrote to Fraise's widow, Jenneice.

He was an energetic young man who had a strong religious faith and was often smiling, full of joy, jumping around all the time.

David's faith was strong. He attended his church as often as he could and sang in a choir.
